Real Simple Magazine: Table of Content Redesign
Print Design | 2023
Software: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Indesign.
To emphasize my layout and typography skills, I redesigned the table of contents of the Real Simple Magazine.
To differentiate the redesign from the original design, I decided to go with a stylized environment, sweet and girlie vibes. As the main character in the cover was Jennifer Hudson, I looked for the photoshoot on the Real Simple website to use for the redesign. Her photos were so dynamic and colorful that I had to play with them. I went for different orange tones (light peach, salmon, dark orange) and burgundy to highlight the header. With this color palette, I could balance my layout and the photos. For the typography, especially for titles, I chose a clean sans serif font but a delicate style to match the tone and feeling. For body text, I went for a readable font sans serif too, but matching the sweetness and sophisticated look that I wanted to approach.
